Play Safe

Gambling should be entertainment you can comfortably afford to lose. If it has stopped feeling that way, the support below is free, confidential and available across Canada.

ConnexOntario runs a free helpline on 1-866-531-2600, twenty-four hours a day, every day. The Responsible Gambling Council publishes prevention resources and self-assessment tools nationwide, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health offers a self-assessment worth ten minutes of anyone's time. Gamblers Anonymous holds meetings in most Canadian cities and online.

Warning signs worth taking seriously: gambling with money set aside for something else, chasing losses with larger bets, hiding how much you play from people close to you, borrowing to fund a deposit, or feeling you have to keep going to get even.

Every operator listed on this site has deposit limits, session reminders and self-exclusion in the account settings, and they take effect immediately rather than after a cooling-off period. Setting a deposit cap the day you register, while nothing is wrong, is much easier than setting one later.

If you want to stop entirely, self-exclusion at the operator is the strongest tool available and it cannot be reversed on request during the period you choose. Use it before you feel you need it.
